I'M SELLING FOOD - WHAT REGULATIONS DO I HAVE TO MEET?
- The Hutt City Council requires food sellers to apply for a permit. Click Here to access this document which provides the guidelines. If you require a permit, the form provides a link to the appropriate application.
IS THERE ACCESS TO WATER FOR MY STALL?
- Water is not provided to stalls. Drinking water is available from the Fountain on Buick Street.
I WILL BE RUNNING A GENERATOR - ARE THERE ANY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS?
- Generators must not exceed 60dB. Noisy Generators will not be allowed on site.
ARE THERE ANY POWERED SITES?
- Power supply is to be arranged by the stall holder. This may be possible by arrangement with Jackson Street Shop owners.
IS THERE ANY SHELTER? ARE THE STALLS COVERED?
- Stalls are set up in the centre of the road so check the weather report for that day.
- You can bring your own gazebo or umbrella, don't forgot to bring anchor weights for your gazebo.
DOES PETONE ROTARY PROVIDE ANY EQUIPMENT?
- A limited number of trestle tables are available for hire for $30 each.
CAN I TURN UP ON THE DAY AND GET A SITE?
- No - we operate on a first-come-first-served basis and do not reserve sites without payment.
I HAVE A STALL - WHAT TIME AM I ALLOWED ACCESS TO SET UP?
- Stall holders will only be allowed onto Jackson St to set up from 8am.
- Check for the closest street entrance before you arrive for your stall position to save you time and confusion in the morning.
WHAT TIME IS JACKSON STREET CLOSED TO TRAFFIC?
- The street is closed from 7am to 5pm.
WHEN DO I HAVE TO VACATE THE SITE AT END OF DAY?
- The Fair finishes at 4pm and you must be clear of Jackson Street by 5pm.
WHAT ABOUT THE BUS SERVICE DOWN JACKSON ST? IS THERE AN ALTERNATE ROUTE?
- The Bus Service timetable is normal. There is an alternate route in place on the day of the Petone Rotary Fair
- METLINK will have the alternate route on their site closer to Fair day on February 18th 2012
ARE MEDICAL FACILITIES AVAILABLE?
- ST JOHNS AMBULANCE are in attendance. They will be positioned on the junction of Jackson Street and Britannia Street.
IS THE FAIR FAMILY FRIENDLY?
- Yes - absolutely. Petone has an alcohol ban in place 24hrs x 7 days outside of licenced premises - from Udy Street to the beach.
- We work closely with the local constabulary and encourage all members of the community to fully enjoy the vibrant and friendly atmosphere.
I LIVE IN JACKSON STREET SHOPPING PRECINCT - WILL MY CAR BE TOWED?
- Notification of the Fair and when to vacate the street is widely publicised, well in advance. Also notification is posted to residents who live within the bounds of the Fair precinct.
- Towed vehicles will be moved to nearby streets, street marshals will be able to guide you in the event your car is towed.
